Ward Makielski

Ward Makielski Draw3D InstructorOur newest instructor! Ward has been drawing and cartooning since before he could walk (well, not really, but he’s been drawing for a long time). Ward has 20 years of experience producing art and design for software titles ranging from early Apple II graphic adventure games, through award winning Edutainment CD ROMs for Sierra On-Line and Disney Interactive, and more recently in the casual games market serving social media, web, and mobile platforms. His past-client list includes: Disney, Pixar, LEGO, EA, Mattel, Marvel, Cartoon Network, Universal, American Greetings, Mark Kistler, AOL, LeapFrog, Sierra On-Line (Vivendi-Universal), PAN Interactive, MGA, Kixeye, Zynga, GSN, and Nickelodeon. Ward is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a BFA in Industrial Design and also earned an MBA from Ferris State University with a concentration in Innovation and Design Management. In 1996 he received a CODiE Award for his edutainment software design on The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain which made the cover of Consumer Reports and was listed as their top pick for educational software for that year

    WOW! Both you and Mr.Kistler are SO AWESOME!!! I love drawing with you guys! I hope to enter in some of my own drawings in the art gallery soon. One of my favorite lessons (One of MANY) Is the LIVE one that Mr.Kistler did…..The Darth Hamster!! I am going to enter it soon!!

      Thanks for all the kind words! I have to admit that I’m a big fan of Mr. Kistler, too, and he helped shape me into the artist I am today. It makes me smile to share in the praise directed at him. I look forward to seeing some of your drawings – our student gallery could use some fresh images!
